Bas Rutten is a world-renowned mixed martial artist who has also made a name for himself outside the ring as an actor, host, and television personality.

As an actor Rutten can be seen next summer co-starring in the Kevin James feature film Here Comes the Boom for Columbia Pictures. Rutten previously appeared in Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) and lent his talents to the voice cast of Zookeeper (2011). Rutten is the co-host of the weekly MMA news program Inside MMA on HDNet, and he can be seen this fall hosting the self-defense show Punk Payback for Fuel TV. Rutten has provided color commentary for several fight organizations including the former Pride Fighting Championships. Combining his athleticism with his comical side, he can currently be seen on the Cartoon Network’s kid-targeted Get Healthy campaign. Rutten is a former three-time King of Pancrase World Champion and UFC Heavyweight Champion. Born and raised in Holland, his devotion to martial arts began after sneaking into a movie screening of Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon. First known as a devastating stand up striker with 11 career wins by knockout, Rutten also dominated with 14 wins by submission and went undefeated in his final 22 fights.

THE O2 TRAINER: Athletes often use resistance to build muscles in their arms, legs, and abs. The O2 trainer, developed by Bas Rutten, famed MMA Champion and on-screen personality, uses resistance to build muscles in and around the lungs. This simple yet effective device trains inhalation muscles, improves physical performance, and increases lung capacity and endurance. Other lung training devices are only recommended for use during rest periods, but the O2 Trainer allows a user to choose a setting and place the trainer in the mouth during a workout or conditioning activity. The Bas Rutten O2 trainer is designed to increase endurance by simulating high altitude. It can be used for most exercises and activities, including weight training, running and, of course, rock climbing. It works by teaching your lungs to perform with less oxygen and get as much as possible from each breath, and can be used at any performance level.

The O2 trainer improves lung capacity and increases red blood cell levels. It also decreases your maximum heart rate for the same amount of work and helps your blood unload oxygen more efficiently. It works very simply, by controlling the air intake to the lungs. Your lungs have to work harder to pull in the same amount of air. As you get used to it you can add the included nose clip to work your lungs even harder. Customers and athletes love the O2. It’s made of high grade polymer and constructed in a high quality manner. In fact, one customer said it was the only trainer he had found that also worked his diaphragm whilst being half the size of a normal altitude training mask.
